"When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost".

John 19:30

When Jesus declared “It is finished", he was referring to His payment of our debt of sin. But you will notice that the Lord of glory stuck around a while after that. Because although “it” was finished, He was not yet finished. Jesus knew what all great leaders know.

No one is a success without a successor!

After His resurrection, Jesus asked for His disciples and Peter, in particular. He comissioned them to preach the gospel and gave them the power to remit or retain sins. (John 20:19-23)

They were charged to cast out devils, lay hands on the sick, and speak with new tongues, under the leading and power of the Holy Spirit. (Mark 16:15-20) They were equipped to do the works that Jesus did and even “greater works.”

Now Jesus was finished. Now He could depart. He counted His mission a success because He had not one, but one hundred and twenty successors. (Acts 1 / Acts 2)

The EncourageMINT book was written after a traumatic experience that caused me to re-evaluate my life and my relationship with the Lord. It was during that time of re-establishment that I realized that many people, like me, had lost focus of what it means to be a Christian and because of that, none of us were being very effective at helping others to become Christians. If you want to know more about it, I encourage you to read the devotional that started it all:

The EncourageMINT A wealth of daily inspiration, encouraging you to become who God says You Are -- In Him.

Your purchase helps support our ministry. Our ministry will help to support your life.

Are you Maturing?

Or are you just growing older?

Maturity, in any species is marked by the ability to reproduce.

Since we are capable of reproducing the moment we get saved, true maturity in the Spirit is marked, not by the ability, but by the desire to reproduce.

Now that you are born again, you have found your course and you are about the business of following it, it is time to begin thinking about finishing.

Who will be your successor?

Who will be the beneficiary of all that you have learned and gained, and who will continue that which the Lord has begun in you?

If you are indeed maturing and you would like to get serious about soul winning, visit our sister site:

www.double-you.org

Join a growing army of soul winners who understand the importance of finishing their course in life.

Some people will give up. Some people will quit. Some people will run out of time. And most of us will die. But only those who are mature in Christ Jesus, led by the Spirit, and submitted to the will of God the Father will be able to say like Paul and Jesus:

"It is Finished!"
