The wisdom of Solomon is legendary, and it was presented to the world for the first time in a choice concerning a child. Two harlots had babies, three days apart. They were roommates and one rolled over on her sleeping child and the baby died. When she awakened to the horror in the middle of the night, she switched the babies and hoped against hope that her roommate wouldn’t notice. But mothers know and they went to the king to settle their dispute.
“Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one , and half to the other,” was the king’s decree. Any mother knows, that the living child’s mother would rather give her son to a liar than have him slain, which is what she begged the king to do. In so doing, she revealed the truth to Solomon.
Change. Her roommate changed the children. The living child’s mother offered to exchange her custodial rights for the life of her son. Everyone involved was changed forever. You are changing your children.
